A smarter Siri, finally<\/h2>

The headline change is a Siri that behaves far more like a modern AI assistant. Bloomberg reports that Apple has built a dedicated, ChatGPT-style app where your conversations live as a continuous history. Instead of one-off questions that vanish the moment you ask them, Siri remembers context, follows multi-step requests, and lets you pick up where you left off.<\/p>

In practice, that means you should be able to ask the kind of natural question Apple first teased back in 2024 \u2014 something like \u201cfind that article a friend sent me a few weeks ago\u201d<\/em> \u2014 and have Siri actually understand the context and surface the right result.<\/p>

A new look built around the Dynamic Island<\/h2>

Visually, Siri is moving away from the colourful glow introduced about eighteen months ago toward a cleaner, darker interface that lives in the Dynamic Island<\/strong>, where it sits as an always-available agent.<\/p>

You\u2019ll reportedly be able to summon it three ways: with your voice, with the side button, or with an entirely new gesture \u2014 a swipe down from the top-centre of the screen<\/strong>. That gesture opens a new \u201cSearch or Ask\u201d interface, replacing the older Siri Suggestions panel. Your requests are organised as cards that update as new information comes in.<\/p>

Siri moves into the Camera<\/h2>

One of the most useful changes is a dedicated Siri mode inside the Camera app<\/strong>, sitting alongside Photo and Video at the bottom of the screen. Point your camera at something and Siri analyses what it sees \u2014 an evolution of today\u2019s Visual Intelligence, brought directly into the place you\u2019d naturally use it.<\/p>

The idea is contextual: scan a product, a landmark, or a piece of text, and Siri responds based on what\u2019s in front of you. Early on, some of these features are expected to be US-only before rolling out more widely.<\/p>

A camera you can finally customise<\/h2>

Alongside the AI features, the Camera app itself is becoming far more flexible. Bloomberg reports that you\u2019ll be able to choose which controls appear and where \u2014 much like adding contextual elements in Safari.<\/p>

Shoot a lot? Add dedicated buttons for exposure, depth of field, and other settings. Want simplicity? Strip it back to the essentials. After years of a deliberately minimal camera interface, this is a notable shift toward personalisation.<\/p>

Shortcuts in plain language<\/h2>

The Shortcuts app is set to get a major upgrade too. Rather than wrestling with a manual builder, you should be able to describe what you want in plain language<\/strong> and let Apple Intelligence assemble the shortcut for you. It\u2019s expected to complement the current system rather than replace it \u2014 and it could finally bring Shortcuts to a much wider audience.<\/p>
